My Students
We are a small school located in the South Bronx. It is located in one of the poorest and most crime ridden communities in NYC, yet our pupils are Gems.The team members persevere, waking early, 6:30am to run miles prior to class and again running in PSAL competition in the evening. They deserve more tools to aid their progress. This year we sent our very first runner to NY State competition it is our hope to send more support here.
My Project
After a hard race, or practice run recovery is so important. Being able to perform well sometimes means mobilizing your body. Great sports performance is a combination of speed, strength, skill and mobility. It is important to athletes to be able to bring their bodies through a full range of motion.It is an excellent practice to build healthy habits into the activities our young athletes engage in. Mobility training is just as important as all the rest. Too often, athletes skip the foundational practices that aid in peak performance and bad habits broken early tend to produce fuller competency later.
