I am blessed to teach third grade at a wonderful Title I School in Northeast North Carolina. Our students are loving, hard working, easily motivated and care about their success! They thrive on competitions and reaching goals set for them throughout the school year.
Our students get excited, work harder and stay more engaged in their academics when they are able to stay mobile and get their energy out at various times throughout the school day.
We are a diverse school consisting of students and families from various backgrounds and cultures. They are each unique and have a way about winning our hearts with their kindness and thoughtfulness. We have truly become a family!
My Project
Forming a soccer team will allow our students to build essential problem solving and leadership skills that are needed on and off the field. The two soccer goals and soccer balls will allow students to be able to practice for and play the soccer games during the school year.
There are many research findings which highlight that children dabbling with both sports and academics are better focused, as discipline, concentration, and time-management learned through sports come in handy.

Incorporating soccer teams at our school will allow our students to gain team-building skills, confidence, exercise and health benefits.
Co-ed teams will be selected and formed every nine weeks based on academic success and will play 1 game each nine weeks for a total of 4 games for the school year. Parents will be invited to attend each game and games will take place alternating during the school day and after school.
This project will allow students an opportunity to be a part of a team and to learn and play a sport they may not otherwise ever have the opportunity to play. This project will also increase motivation and confidence for academic success in both males and females as well as exercise, health, and parental involvement.
