My students need these rugs to have a warm and welcoming classroom environment. These rugs will be used in our classroom library and our whole group reading/learning area. Students can cozy up with a good book.
Every year my new group of second graders come to school with an excitement for learning. Seeing the joy their eyes each morning and those a-ha moments (when they have finally grasped a concept that was challenging for them) make each day so rewarding. We work together to create a positive classroom environment where we learn to work together and build each other up.
Not only do I have the pleasure of teaching these children, but learning from them as well.
Their curiosity, eagerness and positive outlook are traits I hope they never lose.
My Project
My classroom environment is a place where students should feel home. These vibrant blue rugs will add a place for students to stretch out, sit or curl up to read and work. Students should be given the opportunity to enjoy reading with good books and a special place to relax. That's why the first rug will be kept in our classroom library. The second rug will add a place for my class to sit and share thoughts and ideas during our whole group lessons for all subject areas.
It will give them a comfortable spot to enjoy a story, share ideas and focus on their learning at the front of the classroom.
Both rugs will give the students extra designated areas to sit and work during math and reading centers as well. These rugs will have a positive impact on student learning and the classroom environment.
