Help me give my students new rugs for learning centers. These rugs will be used to replace old rugs that were purchased over 10 years ago from Lakeshore.
I teach amazing children who are amazing in a very special way. My students are between the ages of three and six with special needs. This includes Down Syndrome, Autism, Speech Delays, Motor Delays, and Social /Behavior delays. The program is in the public school system and some of the children stay in my class for several years.
Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I remember Involve me and I learn -Benjamin Franklin.
My children learn best through experiences. They learn by smelling, tasting, seeing, touching and hearing all that they can about what ever we are studying. They are inquisitive, and want to learn.
My Project
These rugs will be used to replace old rugs that are the coverings for the floor in two of my centers. One will replace the rug that is in the Music center. This rug is used by students to have a soft area to sit wile playing and exploring the various instruments and activities in the center. It serves as not only a comfortable place to play and explore, but also aids in covering a very cold tile floor in the winter months.
The second rug will be used as part of an animal center where children get to explore different animals and the habitats that they live in.
It will be a nice place for the children to sit and play with the various animals and explore the different places they live.
Rugs are a necessity in an early childhood classroom because children like to sit and play on the floor. It is important to provide the students with safe comfortable places to learn.
