I teach in a preschool moderate/severe classroom with ranging disabilities from students with autism, Learning disabilities, and other health impairments. Students in this area have been affected by the recent Camp Fire in California and come from homes where their parents are very hard working. Each one of my students is a marvel and such a fun little human being! They all have a unique way of learning, which is part of what makes teaching them so fun.
This is a new class that has been opened up as kids with special needs turn 3 so that they may receive high quality services.
Every classroom needs a beautiful colorful rug center piece for circle time, calendar and big music. Having a rug with individual places will give each child a sense of ownership over thier place on the rug and it will give the students less to argue over.
Another benefit of having a colorful rug in the classroom is the fact that it makes the room more inviting.
Especially when the wildfires that have ravaged our community, these kids need to feel safe and comfortable.
Having a big colorful rug will be the focal point in our classroom and a safe place for our kids to learn and grow!
