I teach a small group of first and second grade students in a rural area in Kansas. My students are full of life and ready to learn every day that they walk through my door. Every child has their own capabilities, strengths, and talents; sometimes all it takes is a little motivation. My class consists of 12 students who inherently care for one another and continually make an effort to thrive for greatness.
I would describe my students as curious, enthusiastic, and eager to immerse themselves in any kind of new challenge.
I am lucky and thankful to have a group of students each year who are excited and ready to learn.
My Project
I have recently decided to transfer my classroom from old school original seating to flexible seating. This will allow students to take charge of their learning environment by making the choice that best fits them. With doing this, I am in need of rugs. Most of the flexible seating is low to the ground. The rugs will allow the students to be more comfortable. It will also allow me as a teacher to be able to divide out the classroom with all the different flexible seating that is going to be available to the students.
I am looking forward to changing up my classroom for the 2018-2019 school year.
The rugs and the additional stools will allow for a more relaxing, comfortable atmosphere.
