My Students

As a teacher working in a high poverty bilingual school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, my students still work hard and try their best everyday. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, interpreters, and questioners. Many of them are being raised in single parent household or have parents with limited english ability and 99 percent of out students receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.

My students are budding mathematicians, scientist, artists, architects, teachers, doctors, interpreters, etc... Sometimes they need a smaller setting to be successful.

This allows them to get individual attention and get the best support for their learning style.

My Project

I am a special education teacher in DC. I work in the general education classrooms and I also pull students out into my own classroom. When they are in my room for pull out services, I have students do work all around my room and currently need a rug to help give another work space.

I need a rug for my room.

My students do individual work spread through out my room and I would like to give them the opportunity to have another area to work in. This rug would help students have a new space to do work in.
