This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

How can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed? My classroom is a place where students feel safe to take chances and make mistakes in order to learn.

We are encouraged to create, dream, and learn big.

When students have an environment that promotes creativity their possibilities are limitless. In my class I want to be able to help foster creative and critical thinking skills based on guided discovery and group projects. I also want students to be able to learn from each other and their mistakes through center work.

My Project

My students love to get comfy and read. Unfortunately, my carpet has seen better days. This set of four requested new rugs in our classroom will help students to be able to sit around the classroom and enjoy books, and different centers.

Making sure students are comfortable is essential, they are more engaged and more willing to learn.

I have noticed students are more willing to do work and read when they have a choice as to where they sit.

These carpets will provide some new places in the classroom for students to lay down and reaa good book, or do learning centers with their classmates.
