My students are in a Collaborative Team Teaching classroom in a high-needs, Title I School. The children in my classroom are inquisitive and joyful! We absolutely love them and want them to have the best resources to thrive.
Our students are a combination of general education students and students with special needs.
Our students are making rapid progress in their reading development but are in need of higher level texts to continue challenging themselves. They love reading chapter books and learning about the world!
In an integrated co-teaching environment, students are placed into multiple groups. To meet all of the needs of the diverse learners in my classroom, my co-teacher and I parallel teach.
Currently, half of the class is sitting on a nice rug when they are learning, while the other half is sitting on the floor.
Our students need more of a structure when it comes to sitting on the floor. With the help of the boxes on the rug, every student will feel like they have a place in the classroom. It will also motivate them to learn and enjoy school!
