My kindergarten students are amazing little minds from all ethnic, social, and developmental backgrounds. They are bright, diverse, and eager to learn and interact with the world around them.
In my inclusion kindergarten classroom we are busy as we explore reading, writing, and social development.
We love to move our bodies and get up and dance! I incorporate music and movement into many aspects of our day with my ukulele. We like to write songs and put them to music, which builds literacy skills. My students each bring a range of diverse knowledge to our classroom, and there is not a day that goes by that we are not learning something exciting about the world or each other. My classroom is in Lowell, MA which has a high poverty rate and where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite our diverse backgrounds, we all work together to create a warm and loving classroom that will foster a love of learning from the first day of school!
My Project
Having a clean and welcoming rug space will greatly help my classroom, as my kindergarten students and I spend a lot of our learning time there. It will provide a clean, warm, and welcoming classroom where children can build with blocks and have story time and learning time. In my classroom we do centers, and the rug is a place that is occupied by students for much of the day. A new rug will immensely help my urban classroom where many children currently live in poverty and receive free school breakfast and lunch. Please consider donating to my project.
