Rug Needed for my Classroom
My students need a new rug.
When I recall my experience in elementary school, I remember bright and colorful walls that displayed students' work. The classroom was a place that I loved being in. I want my students to walk into their classroom wanting to be there and excited to learn.
My students are five and six year old children with autism.
They come from low-income families. They attend school in a low-income neighborhood in Brooklyn. Their school has low resources and not enough funds to meet their needs. My students are unique and charismatic individuals. My students are nonverbal, but their excitement for learning can be read on their faces.
Unfortunately, this year I walked into my classroom to find it had been vandalized. Paint was thrown all over my books, walls, the students desks, and on bulletin boards that displayed my students hard work. These vandals also poured paint all over the rug, we use during circle time. With your help I want my students to come back to a better, more inviting room. This rug will improve my students' learning, environment, and overall it will support their education.
Your support and donations will enrich not only my students' education, but their lives as well.
My students love to be surrounded by an environment that supports who they are. By contributing to this project you will be helping me help their uniqueness shine.
