I have 20 creative, smart, and curious learners in my fourth grade classroom. They all love coming together every morning for our family morning meeting where we talk about our weekends, how we are feeling, and explore different discussion questions. Building community is very important in our classroom and students have been working hard to work as a team and collaborate with other students while building positive, trusting relationships. Part of building a classroom community is creating a comfortable classroom environment where students feel safe and ready to learn.
I am a first year teacher teaching in a Title 1 school. My classroom is missing an important part- a rug. Please help make my classroom environment more welcoming by donating to get our class a rug to sit on. My students’ favorite part of the day is our morning meeting and they all get squirmy and uncomfortable after a few minutes of sitting on the hard tile. This will make a huge difference in our classroom because it will make our classroom more warm and inviting to all students. Reading is so important and students also need a rug to sit on while they are reading.
