My Students

Musical, creative, inquisitive, energetic...these are all words that describe my students. They love to sing, move, play instruments, and learn in hands-on ways. They love to use drums, Orff instruments, and ukuleles in our music room, and they love to perform.

Around 25% of our students come from military families, and this brings them their own unique set of challenges.

I want to teach them a love for music that will last them their whole lives, wherever they may find themselves.

My Project

I am requesting a new rug for the music room. My current rug is 10 years old and showing age from where students have used it to sit for many years. This beautiful rug will be a fantastic teaching tool in addition to giving my students an organized place to sit. There are music symbols on the carpet, a staff and clefs, and even a piano keyboard. I can use this rug to help teach musical concepts to students in a fun way.

I'm also requesting additional microphones for our cafeteria.

These will be used to help amplify our students during performance, as all students deserve to be heard!
