Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I recently moved to Alabama and was hired at school where the students are not always provided with support, love, and encouragement. My low-income students live in an urban area and haven't had the chance to establish a love in learning or a trust in the education system. I am excited to step in as their teacher and show them that they can achieve anything that they set their minds to. Through a class incentive system, students will be able to earn 'Kinder Bucks' in order to purchase their own little 'desk pet.' They will have the responsibility of caring for, housing, feeding/etc. their small little pet. Additionally, the organization materials in this project will help me organize their items and provide a solid classroom for them.
