My Students

My students come from a rural community where grit and hard work are shown every day on the farm, in their homes, and at school.

I teach seventh, eighth, and ninth grade mathematics and sponsor numerous extracurricular activities (Junior High Scholar Bowl, High School National Honor Society, and Math League). I have high expectations for my students and use Whole Brain research techniques to make learning memorable and fun.

My Project

I was blessed to have my first Rubik's Cube project funded, but my STEM class size is larger than the amount of materials I ordered. I would love for each student to be able to participate in this great activity, and this project would allow us to do so.

This project will allow each of my STEM students to have a Rubik's Cube to work with as I teach them mathematical algorithms to solve the cube and also three sets of the Rubik's Race game to teach critical thinking.

My students are excited to learn the steps to solve a Rubik's Cube and having a cube for each student will allow for true hands-on learning.
