The students in my class are eager to learn. They strive every day to be the best students they can be. Often times the students that come through my classroom are kiddos that don't have a lot of support from their family and need a lot of love. My students love to dance and be silly (there hasn't been a day they don't make me laugh) but they also love learning and absorb information like a sponge. I love coming into class each day knowing that they are happy to see me and that I can make a difference in their lives!
These kids have goals and aspirations, and they work hard every day to try and be better than the day before.
These kiddos are going places, they just need help getting there!
My Project
In my class, we try to do an art project every single week. I have found several art projects that I would love to do with my students that require the use of brayers. Brayers make for a really fun, interactive and sometimes messy art project; perfect for kids to express themselves. Right now, we are studying a famous Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. He used a lot of layering in his paintings to create depth and focus. Using these brayers will help my students mimic his paintings and bring the Japanese culture into our classroom. I love that my students have different mediums to create!
