Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our middle school is an amazingly diverse community with over 1,000 students! There are over 15 different languages spoken in the homes of our students, including Spanish, Portuguese, Khmer, and Vietnamese. Over 60% of our students’ homes do not speak English as their primary language and 25% of our student population receives ESL services.

Look no further than our 6th-grade students. Our students come ready to learn and participate in a multitude of clubs and afterschool programs as well as the amazing core classes. The variety of clubs and activities help even further in increasing the pride within the school, as students create amazing work and programs that they feel directly connected to.
My Project
The screen printing starter kit and heat gun will continue to build our screen printing club at RPMS. Our students will learn an interesting new skill that will help our whole school community feel more proud and show their school spirit as they wear our designs in school and at home. These products will go along with the screen printing press we already have to help build this afterschool club. Students will become entrepreneurs and develop communication skills as they work with other clubs and school members to design, order, and print amazing products.
