I have exceptional students who have a contagious enthusiasm for learning! As their teacher, I want to provide opportunities that will prepare them for the 21st century. Collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking and problem solving are engaging competencies that inspire and motivate my students to go above and beyond!
My school is made up of over 90% free and reduced price lunch.
The students don't always have access to resources, and I want to help bridge that gap. I want to do everything I can to create a contagious enthusiasm for learning that will inspire and motivate students to be all that they can be!
This project enables students to have the books they need so they can be part of an opportunity that promotes reading, collaboration and fun competition! I'm requesting two copies of each book and they will be shared at two different schools.
The books will be displayed and made available for checkout in the school library to maximize their use!
These books are always checked out and I want to do what I can so that these incredible stories reach as many students as possible! All students in the school can read the books but students in the fourth, fifth and sixth grade are invited to participate in the Nebraska Golden Sower book club and an annual reading competition.
This learning opportunity will specifically focus on critical thinking, creative thinking, inquiry and cultural proficiency. This project provides an exceptional opportunity for a community of learners to read more, meet new people and discover books in a new way. Students develop literacy skills and improve communication skills that will help throughout their entire lives. Students will make new friends and be a part of a positive community that supports each other. Let the magic of reading begin!
