'Round the Rug in Music Class

Help me give my students a rug to engage them in music-making in a circle.

My Project

My students love to experience new things in music class! I plan to use this round rug daily for my students to sit, play, dance around, and learn music. From drum-circles and story-time, to folk dances and passing games, a round rug will be a great tool for engaging my students in music-making.

Now, more than ever, my students need to opportunities to face one another and develop a sense of self-awareness through practicing eye-contact and visibility in a group.

Studies show circular seating arrangements can help instill a sense of belonging within classroom communities with overall positive effects on learning, emotions, and well- being.
