My Students
I teach at a school of over 1,000 students that come from all different backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. They are a group of sweet and energetic 1st graders who have a love of learning.
I am very excited to meet this year's class of learners and to be a part of their educational journey. First grade is where students learn to love reading and I am very honored to be a part of their story!
I learn as much from my students as I teach them throughout the year! I am so blessed to be able to work with this sweet children daily!
My Project
These amazing and diverse books will help my students get "Rooted in Reading". They will help create a love of reading in my classroom. We will read the book each day and we use will them to develop deeper levels of thinking, ask questions, make connections with the story that will strengthen their comprehension skills.
We will use these books to focus on different comprehension strategies and skills that will take them on an incredible reading adventure throughout the year!
We will also use these books to create hands on activities that will instill these skills while sharpening their creative minds.
