Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students who attend our school want to learn and are excited about being at school. The faculty makes learning "hands on". The STEM subjects are increasingly implementing 21st century learning and adding real-world applications such as FIRST Robotics.
This year students are starting a FIRST Technical Challenge team and starting from scratch!
The team needs tools, storage racks, parts, work benches, marketing brochures, buttons, t-shirts, safety goggles, and first-aid kits. Starting with a fairly large storage closet means the team needs to pay to pull in power, and climate control as well as furnishings.
My Project
This year students are implementing STEM programs by starting a FIRST Technical Challenge team and starting from scratch! They are reaching out to the entire student body to recruit more members.
This order will give the team storage bins for organizing small parts, shelving to provide "a place for everything to belong" including the competition field, partially assembled robots, and the power tools (Drill/driver and rotary tool) needed to assemble the robots.
With the start of the season, September 8, the team is anxious to get set-up and organized.
The school is providing the space; the team is expected to work to raise the funds to compete and buy needed materials.
