Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are some of the most resilient, energetic, and inspiring young people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Many of them come from single-parent homes, all qualify for free and reduced lunch at our Title I school, and a large number of them have had to endure homelessness.
In order to make my students successful in the classroom, I believe that my lessons need to get them engaged and excited about learning.
Since they are surrounded by hard ships, school is not always the most important priority in their daily lives. I hope that through making learning unpredictable, different, and exciting, in turn, it will help change their viewpoints on the importance of getting a higher education.
My Project
The Ron Clark Academy is one of the best educator trainings out there. His methods are proven to keep students engaged and help provide rigor that will challenge them daily. My goal after attending is to bring back new engagement techniques that will pique my students interests to get them running to school each and every day.
The skills I will take away from the Ron Clark Academy will allow me to consistently motivate, engage, and challenge my students in all subject areas.
I will be able to use the skills and techniques I learn to make a positive impact on my students and help them become successful in all aspects of learning. These techniques will also help me to better create a climate and culture that promotes creativity and innovative learning styles.
In addition, the techniques I learn will not only just impact my students but also the other teachers at my school. I hope to bring back information to share with my colleagues to help make their classrooms as fun and exciting for their students as well.
