This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In 9th grade, we love Romeo and Juliet! Supplies in this project will bring to life my vision of having a potion-making lesson after Act IV of the play. Students will work in pairs to have some fun creating their own potion using test tubes, mini mason jars, eye droppers, and other materials. Then, they will practice ratios to write the official recipe for their potion. Lastly, students will use argument writing skills to create an ad that effectively markets their unique product.

This project is all about creativity!

As I plan to integrate this lesson in the spring, it will be the perfect activity for an outdoor class period. I'm excited to offer an activity that lets kids play and socialize while they apply their math and writing skills to design a unique product.
