Help me give my students math supplies like place value blocks and 10 sided dice as well as thermometers and books that will make learning fun and interactive!
My school is a Title I Leadership School filled with a wonderfully diverse group of students. Eighty percent of students at my school qualify for free or reduced lunch. Additionally, we have over forty percent ELL students coming from a wide variety of countries, backgrounds, and speak multiple languages. Many are newcomers to the country or refugees seeking asylum.
It is my hope that every child that walks through my doors will leave my classroom with a strong sense of self, purpose, and drive, as well as a respect for others differences.
My students are strong, passionate, and eager to learn!
My Project
My students love learning through movement. The set of place value blocks will allow groups of students to move and work together to manipulate numbers. These blocks will make it easy for my students to visually see numbers when comparing, ordering, adding, subtracting, and learning about equality. The 10 sided dice in dice will be used daily to create 2 digit numbers for double digit addition and subtraction practice and rounding. The thermometers and mirrors will be a great addition to our classroom when learning about temperature and symmetry.
By donating to our project you are helping create an exciting learning environment where movement and math coincide.
My students need hands on learning tools for math to become more confident mathematicians. These items will be extremely helpful in getting my students active and engaged in their learning.
