My Students

My students are the kind of kids that are dreamers! They enjoy traveling and creative activities. The students in this community are willing to try new, innovative methods of learning.

We live in a low income area where education is encouraged, but higher level learning is not often pursued.

Since I teach math, most of the parents cannot help their children with the content to help them succeed. Anything to help the students succeed better would be so appreciated! We are a small, but mighty group!

My Project

My students love working in rolling chairs. We recently acquired four dry erase tables but had to use old, less than perfect small chairs. The students love writing their math work out on these tables, but are often uncomfortable while working. I brought in one of the rolling chairs from home for the students to use, but had to remove it due to students arguing over who gets to use it.

The students also like to use the expo markers to do their math work.

Many of the students cannot afford to buy their own, and the ones the county provided write small. I try to conserve the very few expo markers I have for writing on the board (so all students can see what I write). Any amount of expo markers would be appreciated as well.
