My Students

In my classroom, I call my students "my kids" because in our years together they aren't just kids on my roll, they become a part of my heart and everyday life. I have never imagined having a position that brings me as much joy as my role as an eighth-grade teacher has. I am a science teacher at a suburban public school where the majority of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

My traditional classroom hosts students from a variety of economic backgrounds, learning styles, and educational experiences.

All of my students work hard and are excited to learn. Every scientist who walks through my door has the opportunity to be loved unconditionally and immersed fully in our grade-level content by diving hands first into NGSS standards in a student-led and driven atmosphere.

We are always doing labs, project-based style lessons, and STEM/STEAM activities that constantly challenge our scientists and feed their curiosities through hands-on, investigative learning. My job is to prepare them for a lifetime of learning and a career in science.

My Project

To help me and my students get organizational materials we need to end the year successfully, we need a rolling cart to hold our class desktop and speakers with drawers for class copies as well as zipper pouches to organize lab materials!

With the new science standards our students get to involve themselves in many different lab experiments, I want our future scientists to be able to explore and become curious as they dive deep into the world of science, thinking like real scientists!

Students need the best in order to be their best. Science is our future as it allows our future leaders to question, wonder, and explore their beautiful world!
