My students need a large classroom carpet to do morning meetings and build classroom community. It would also be a great place us to learn and a place for students to read and work.
I teach fourth graders at a dual language school in Racine. Two thirds of my students are heritage speakers of Spanish, and the other third are students who are learning Spanish. My students have a love a learning and I am fortunate to be looping with the same group of the students for third grade.
I teach at Title I school where all of the students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
My kids are enthusiastic and love learning all about the world around them. They love to read books and make projects on the computer.
My Project
By having a classroom rug, students will be able to share out with each other during classroom meetings. Students can also come to the carpet for whole, as well as small group instruction. Students can also read and learn on the carpet.
I can picture my students sitting on the carpet sharing out during morning meetings and building our classroom community.
Students love to read in both English and Spanish and having a carpet will give them another space to accomplish this. My students would also benefit coming to the carpet for whole, as well as small group instruction. A classroom rug will have many uses and functions.
