Roll Out the Blue Carpet

Help me give my students a comfortable rug for our community meeting area, which allows us the ability to collaborate as a group and receive instruction in a common area of our classroom.

My Students

Our third graders are naturally inquisitive learners who thrive when given the tools they need to be successful.

Our kiddos are developing a love of learning, discovering who they are as readers, writers, and mathematicians.

They are becoming their own people and taking ownership of their own progress.

We have a variety of 8 and 9-year-old learners who come from many different backgrounds. Many of my students experience living within the poverty line. Despite this, our students work their hardest to meet their own educational goals.

My Project

In order to set up our classroom community, it is really important that we have a common meeting area in which students receive directions, instructions and participate in Morning Meeting time. Unfortunately, our amazing school is under construction and will be shut down for a year. We will be moving to a very old building, that has hard linoleum floors, not conducive to students sitting on the floor.

We are in desperate need of a carpeted area to come together as a community.

Being provided this carpet will tremendously help my students have a place to comfortably sit on the floor, which supports focus and attention for many of my students. It will also provide a comfortable alternative seating option during reading and writing time.
