Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our middle school is an amazingly diverse community with over 1,000 students! There are over 15 different languages spoken in the homes of our students, including Spanish, Portuguese, Khmer, and Vietnamese. Over 60% of our students’ homes do not speak English as their primary language and 25% of our student population receives ESL services.
Are you looking for students full of pride and excitement and an amazing school community?
Look no further than the 6th-grade students. Our students come ready to learn and participate in a multitude of clubs and afterschool programs as well as the amazing core classes. The variety of clubs and activities help even further in increasing the pride within the school, as students create amazing work and programs that they feel directly connected to.
My Project
The VEVOR flash dryer will go hand in hand with our screen printing machine to help create amazing school pride clothing for our students and staff to wear at school and at home to show their school spirit. The equipment will be used with students in a school club to learn entrepreneurship and how to run a business as well as an applicable skill they can take with them. Students who design and create the shirts will feel pride when they see their design on the clothes of other students and staff.
