This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are, generally speaking, first generation Americans. Their parents have come to this country from Mexico and Central and South American countries. As a result, 95% of my students are second language learners. Almost all of them live well below the poverty level. Almost all of my students receive free and reduced price lunch.

My students are so sweet!

Their parents are supportive, but sending money or cash based items is difficult for them due to their personal financial situations.

My Project

The purpose of this project is to increase student safety by allowing teachers and administrators to communicate directly without depending on cell phones. Our administrators and teachers will be able to communicate effectively in the event that something unfavorable is occurring outside the building while administrators are inside the building.

At dismissal, the people at the beginning of the car rider line will be able to communicate effectively with the people who are responsible for dismissing the children more clearly, so that the correct children are dismissed to the parents.
