Rockstar Readers In First Grade

Help me give my students the gift of adventure by providing book sets at their reading level so we can explore and talk about the different, exciting worlds we can visit when reading great books.

My Project

My first grade students are emergent readers and have fallen in love with reading! There are many who are reading their way through the classroom library quickly and I want to support their love of reading with reading groups, or ‘Book Club’ as we call it. Every single student in my classroom has shown an increased interest for independent reading! We love to read to learn AND to read for fun! Our Book Club books would support both of those goals and would make some very happy readers. These book sets would give us multiple copies of the same book so each student would have his or her own to read. It would also provide book sets in multiple levels so that all the students would be able to participate with books at their current reading level.
