Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
About 90% of my students speak languages other than English at home and have never previously been to school. All of my students receive free lunch. About 90% of my students came to school with no experience in English. However, this has not stopped them from enjoying being in a classroom setting and trying to learn English. They love to sing and dance while learning.
These students have truly touched my heart.
It gives me joy to see my students become excited when they are learning something new. The students love to cheer on friends inside and outside of the class.
My Project
Our classroom is very hands-on, and our students love to be involved in their learning. Two iPads and iPad cases are a great way to allow the teachers to be very hands-on and allow the students to be independent at the same time and allowing students to play games on their ability level.
In order for our students to learn English, we must have a very visual classroom which means we need a ton of pictures.
Our students must connect the Spanish word with the English word, that is why we need a portable photo printer and printer paper. The pictures will allow them to learn at a faster pace and to retain the words because of the repetition. Our students are excited to learn and explore technology. We need two iPads with cases, a photo printer, and photo paper.
