Rocking Robots

My students need robots to practice coding and tablets to control the robots.

My Students

My students are intellectually gifted students who live in a low economic area. Our school is a Title 1 school with a high rate of free and reduced lunches. Despite the hardships of my students, they come to school eager to learn. They want to do well academically. Our gifted program challenges our students, and we want to have the best technology and resources available to be able teach these students. These kids will be our future difference in the world.

My Project

Our 5th and 6th graders compete in robotics competitions with VEX IQ and VEX EDR kits. These DASH robots will allow our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders to practice coding and allow them to prepare for future robotics events. The tablets will allow them to download APPS to help them program and control the robot. The DASH robot competitions are done strictly in the classroom so there would not be a great deal of outside costs.

These students are our future and we need to prepare them for real life simulations.

By allowing them to program and control these robots, we can challenge students and prepare them for future careers.
