Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my ELA and SS class aren't just reading books, writing essays or learning about early civilizations. They are creating, questioning and discussing. They are working together to make connections between what they are learning in the classroom and the things they do and see in their everyday lives. They are teaching each other and growing as leaders, friends and members of our community.
The future leaders that are in my classroom may also struggle with learning delays or disabilities.
Students that may struggle with reading or writing shine when they are given the opportunity to show their understanding in creative and differentiated ways. In the time of this pandemic, finding creative and engaging ways to help each learner achieve their full potential is as important as the curriculum itself.
My Project
Teachers Pay Teachers is an AMAZING site that will help me find new and engaging ways to reach my students, whether they are in front of me or following along with us from home. In our blended learning environment everything is digital this year and finding new resources for our students will help us reach them at their current levels and make gains from any learning gaps.
Remote instruction is not easy, for the teacher or students, and these materials will help make the process that much smoother!
The headphones and mic will allow me to be heard by my students, and my students will be heard clearly by me when they need to ask any questions. Supporting my students is my #1 goal this year and these will both help!
