My Students

My students attend a Title 1 school in 'Da Bronx, NY. They come from diverse backgrounds and four languages. They are united in their love of a good story and their desire to do well in school and in life. My students are eager learners who love to lose themselves in a good book. Because of their diverse learning needs, they read on a variety of levels and a variety of topics.

I am always told that I have the best class in the school and I want to make them even better!

My Project

Donations to this project will go directly in the hands of students.

Because of the dearth of libraries and bookstores in the neighborhood in which my students live, access to amazing books in school is essential.

Now that many have mastered the basics of reading and comprehention, it is time to get them excited about the books they read. This donation will enable me to provide children with exciting age-appropriate literature to strengthen their love of learning and kickstart their imaginations. Further, having group sets of these titles will ensure children engage in meaningful and sophisticated discussions with their peers.
