Ms. DeSorbo from Spring Lake NC is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need these Zuma floor rocker chairs to help them focus on the task at hand during instructional time.

Wow! I cannot believe that I am almost finished with my fourth year of teaching! Time sure does fly by when you are doing something that you love! I teach kindergarten, and I have such an amazing group of superheroes this year! I have been blessed with such smart, caring, and affectionate students!
My students attend a public Title I, CEP, 100% reduced lunch school that serves non-military and military connected students.
Even though my students come to school with the deck stacked against them, they come to class excited and eager to learn! My superheroes are unique in their own abilities and what they bring to the classroom! They work together as a team, and together they have tackled the obstacles of learning how to read, write, and add and subtract! I am proud of the leaders that have emerged in my classroom, and of those that support these leaders!
I strive to create a classroom that is hands-on, engaging, safe, and fun! I strive to give my superheroes every experience that is at my disposal! They are what push me to be the best teacher that I can be! They have truly left an imprint on my heart!
Kindergarteners need to move continuously throughout the day! Sitting still is just not an option. The struggle between teacher and student becomes real, when the expectation is for them to sit still. Too much time is spent on reprimanding the child instead of on learning. What we need to realize is that little ones cannot help themselves. The need to move is built into their DNA. It is my job, as the teacher, to find an alternative seating arrangement.
The floor rockers I am requesting will be utilized as an alternative seating arrangement!
The floor rockers will allow my students to sit and rock as they are working on an important skill. Gone is the need to get up and down, up and down while doing their work! My students will be able to stay focused on the task at hand. Another great option about the floor rockers is the flexibility of how they are used within the classroom. I can use them during whole group instruction and then the kids can move them around the room to a quiet place to work. The floor rockers are easy to move around and provide me with different seating arrangements!
To my future donors, please join me on this journey as I try to implement alternative/flexible seating in my classroom. Please help me make my room a comfortable and inviting place for my superheroes! Please help them focus and stay on task while getting their wiggles out! Thank you for your kindness and support!
