Rocking Reading Corner in the Library
Reading is one of the most important skills that students learn in their developmental years.
I want my students to develop a passion for reading. Students should be able to have fun while reading in the library. This can help them develop a life-long love for reading. When the students come to the library, they get excited about the books and other reading materials. One thing we would really enjoy is a big rocking chair in our reading corner. I want to create an exciting and fun space in the library to help my students make reading growths.
We have 719 students who are under privileged and low income. Our entire student body receives free breakfast and lunch. Our school community is working diligently to improve the students’ reading comprehension. Although we are a school in need of improvement our many reading programs have helped our reading scores improve. We have many challenging students, and are looking for ways to continue to motivate them to read.
Our library is an open and welcoming place for students, parents, and educators. This rocking chair will help us complete our reading rocket nook area for storytime. The students love to take turns reading to their classes. Older students, visitors, and I would also use the rocker to turn storytime into a fun and exciting time.
We want to make reading more enjoyable for our students in order to encourage them to want to read more.
This will boost their reading and comprehension ability. When my students see a reading rocking chair in the library, their faces will explode with joy. Please help us to excite and encourage reading among our robust readers.
