Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Currently, I go room to room for music on a cart which is not ideal, however, I do not want this to hinder the education that the children receive. My students need to be able to read notes and compose songs, create their own songs, and use the app Garage Band on their ipads and protective cover.
My students are low income students who love coming to school.
They enjoy music and I want to keep them engaged throughout the year. They have just begun learning the basics in music. I sense that having better, more contemporary technology will improve this the incentive to learn and engage in the lessons using an iPad.
My Project
The students would use the iPads in a variety of ways. Some ways are to using the keyboard app to actually play the notes they are learning. There are a ton of music apps out there that I would like to incorporate using the mini iPad. Such as Smart Fingers, Garage Band, Flying Notes, etc. Having the iPad will be a great help to connect to the Promethean Board so all students can see it. The iPad would make it much easier to carry around room to room rather than a computer or laptop.
Your donations to this project would enhance the music program tremendously, because it would allow students to see how important technology can be used in music class.
It would increase their knowledge and they will be able to showcase their favorite learning style with the use of the iPad.
