Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember how much fun it was to experience new and different instruments in the music room? My students love creating new sound effects to enhance fables or poetry. Please help us update and replace our worn out rhythm instruments and mallets.
Our school is celebrating their 50th year anniversary this year!
We have 65% free or reduced lunch, and serve 9 different nationalities. Budget cuts have hit our district hard, and there are very few extra dollars available for supplies. My Project
While celebrating our school's 50th year in the community is very exciting, it also means that many of the instruments in the music classroom have literally been worn out. With budget cuts, there is not enough funding to replace worn out mallets for our Orff instruments or add basic instruments to our collection. They are very expensive, and they do eventually wear out. The Orff technique of learning is exciting, challenging, and rewarding for all students. Every child is capable of contributing to the ensemble at their own level. Every student is capable of feeling successful. Please help us replenish and enhance our instrument collection.
An unknown poet once wrote, "For heights and depths no words can reach, music is the soul's own speech." This quote is especially meaningful to me as a music teacher because I have the privilege of teaching all 450 of our students.
For some, music is the only thing that brings a sense of success. The benefits are enormous to a child's soul. Please help us keep quality instruments in the music classroom!
