My Students

Ernest Hemingway once said: "There is no friend as loyal as a book." My students are learning vital skills as readers each day in our classroom.

My students come from a low income background, and are not blessed with the same opportunities as the students on the other side of town.

They are outgoing and eager to learn. They are always asking questions about the world and are ready to change it! Unfortunately, our school lacks many of the resources necessary for my students to meet their full potential.

My Project

My students are ready to move away from reading out of the same old textbook. These books will enable them to challenge themselves, stretch their imaginations, and move towards becoming life-long readers. We will be working on a novel study that will allow them to apply many of the comprehension skills that they've learned this year to a full length chapter book.

The ability to read and read well is such a vital skill for all students to have, both young and old.

Books are the still one of the best ways to access new information, learn about our world, and visit distant lands. These books will help my students do all of the above and more! Thank you for considering helping out our classroom!
