Rockin' Readers and Writers Need an Excellent Easel
My students need an easel to be able to see big books and interactive writing lessons.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go."
Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"
My students are in need of a place to view big books better, and a place within reach to practice writing during whole group lessons.
My students are 24 eager and motivated individuals who are just beginning their journey in education in kindergarten.
The school is very high achieving and continues to work towards proficiency for all students. Our school believes in balanced literacy through the workshop model and reaching all students at their current level in order to target instruction.
The easel that I am hoping to get through Lakeshore Learning will help me and my students in amazing ways. First, it is so important for emergent readers to be able to have a great model of the skills and strategies needed to become a great reader. The easel will allow me to put big books and charts on it and free up my hands to point out important things within the texts. The easel is also a perfect height for my students to reach when they are called up to point out something in the text or write a word in a group story that we might be creating.
I want to give my kindergarten students the best start in school.
It is important that I help them read and write on grade level according to the Common Core Standards. This easel will be a great tool for me to facilitate learning throughout the day.
