Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a group of amazing and diverse group of first graders. The kids that I teach are bright and eager to learn new things. My students come from all different kinds of homes and my goal is to create and maintain a fun filled learning environment for them. They are great thinkers and problem solvers and love opportunities to do classroom activities in a hands-on manner. I want my students to learn as much as they can in first grade!

My Project

This table will allow me to better access each of my students during small group rotations for math and reading. This table will also allow me to reach the individual needs of my students better. It will allow for more one-on-one interaction but still allows me to be close enough to the remainder of my students at the table. This table would be the hub of my classroom because approximately 50% of my teaching day is done at this table. It will give a greater opportunity for growth within each individual student; more so than the table I currently have.
