My students learn at a neighborhood school in a rigorous program. The students are inquisitive, funny, and supportive of one another. They often find joy in making real-world connections and are open-minded about different concepts and ideas.
The students are hardworking but lack many of the tools that would enable them to succeed in a technologically savvy world.
They are very ambitious about the world outside of high school and want to be better prepared to take on any challenge that is set before them.
My Project
These books will enable my students to keep a "Learner Portfolio." The learner portfolio will be a place for students to explore and reflect on the works that they study in class.
Students will be expected to reflect on their responses and record their processes and the development of their ideas.
They will also be expected to make connections between current titles and previous ones they have read, connections with the ideas of their peers, and investigate new concepts.
The Rocketbook will ensure that the students get to explore a new mode of technology. Notes that can be uploaded will help the students stay organized and cognizant of how much paper they waste taking notes traditionally.
