My classroom is full of active 5-year-old students who are excited to be at school. They are so excited to learn when they walk through my door.
My class consists of students that are Vietnamese, African-American, Hispanic, and Caucasian.
Many of the students are English Language Learners. The majority of our school's students are from a low socioeconomic neighborhood and they have been limited in their exposure to many things. I am thrilled to be their kindergarten teacher and able to provide them with many opportunities they haven't been afforded.
We need basic classroom art supplies to make it through the year. We need construction paper, paint, paint brushes, collage of materials, and tissue squares. These art supplies will help our imagination soar. Having a creative mind will not only help my students be open minded, but will also help to teach my students independence and responsibility as they learn to take care of their own belongings in class.
“Arts experiences boost critical thinking, teaching students to take the time to be more careful and thorough in how they observe the world." Arts Education Matters
My students will be able to simply focus on their reasoning and self-awareness in the world around them. I am reaching out in asking for help with getting these materials for my students. With your help, students will be able to focus on observing the world through there creations.
