This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For most of my students this is their first year in a music classroom in two years. Most if not all are so eager to be in the music classroom again wanting to learn and use instruments to create.

I want to be able to give my students the ability to experience all types of music, not just classical music but also hip hop, folk, acoustic.

Especially to my upper grade levels since they will only be with me for a short time!

By creating and learning music its giving the students something to look forward too and to be more independent thinkers. Which they are! They are very outspoken in what they would love to learn in the classroom. They even make connections with what we learn in the music classroom to what they listen to outside the classroom!

My Project

My students have been asking to be able to learn the Ukulele! More opportunities to do different genres of music and performances. Encourage an outlet for expression for themselves and maybe at home.

Encourage to learn on their free time moving on from elementary music and maybe the next top songwriter will have the confidence to rock the world.

Giving them the opportunity to play an instrument that feel more sophisticated than boomwackers, hand drums, rhythm sticks or drum buckets. Building and growing a love for music is the goal.
