My students need 20 wall hangers to hang their guitars in a place where the humidity can be controlled to keep the instruments from cracking and warping.
We have rock stars in the making at our school, but we need a climate-controlled place to keep our guitars secure. These guitar hangers would be a huge help to make this happen!
We have a wonderful music program at our school with great students.
There is a proud tradition of music and many fine ensembles including choir, band, show choir, jazz band, percussion ensemble, pep band, and marching band but we are always looking for more ways to reach our students especially those who do not fit our traditional ensembles or course offerings.
Nearly 50% of our students are on the free and reduced lunch program and some can not afford to be involved in a traditional band program, or because of their family structure, cannot commit to performances outside the school day. Our guitar offering will be a draw to these students and meet these needs.
My Project
We have included a guitar course for Junior High students in next year's schedule that will meet the needs of some of these students but need a place to store the instruments where the humidity can be controlled to minimize warping and cracking but also to secure the instruments.
These guitar hangers can be mounted in a practice room with a humidifier and then locked to ensure the security of the instruments and prevent damage due to the low humidity levels in the band room.
We have students in our school who love music but for a variety of reasons have not fit into traditional ensembles.
We want to give them the tools to enjoy music through their whole lives. This guitar class will be a way to do this and the guitar hangers will ensure that the students have well-maintained instruments on which to learn.
Thanks for considering this project!
