My students need nonfiction science books about geology, natural disasters, experiments, cells, and planets. Our current collection is outdated and the kids have been needing some cool, new books to read.
Our school is located in a rural area of a mountainous state. Our students love the country life of hunting and fishing, riding four-wheelers, sports, and farming.
Our school is about 50% eligible for free and reduced lunch and the students come from hard working families.
Even though most have very little extra money, they take care of each other and give what they can through food drives, used book drives, and fundraisers.
I would love to be able to provide new nonfiction books for them to read and enjoy.
Kids love collecting and learning about rocks. The Rock On! and Earth's Treasures nonfiction series will be a hit with their clear, bright pictures and interesting details for grades 3-5 to read. Geology Rocks and Rocks and Minerals are sets of picturesque books for the younger, beginning rock collecting students.
These new books will satisfy their curiosities and and encourage research into geology.
Other nonfiction topics we are in need of are sets of books about experiments, natural disasters, planets, and cells, which are topics our 4th and 5th graders study each year.
With your help, our students are going to love these books!
