My Students

The students I work with are readers, writers and creative thinkers!

I am fortunate to teach Language Workshop, Reading and Writing to two second grade classes each day!

My teaching partner and I use the Subject Specialization model. I teach literacy and she teaches math, science and social studies.

Our school is an arts integration Magnet School of 600 students.

Our students come from all over the city. They are diverse learners who come to school eager to learn something new every day!

My Project

"Healthy" movement helps create growth, while helping children feel active and alert – even while seated. This moderate movement can aide in focus and concentration. Right now, the classroom has cushions, traditional chairs, and some stools - but these are all stationary options. I would like to add a seating option that promotes movement. These floor rockers by Virco would do just that! This project requests four floor rocker chairs for my classroom. The subtle back and forth motion of the floor rocker will let students move without distracting classmates. By providing a place to rock while they write and read, students will be able to do their best work, take ownership in their learning and will be more engaged!
