My Students

I teach at a school in an urban setting. I have a wonderful group of students, most of whom have been with me since first grade. I expect to take this class all the way to 8th grade. As a Waldorf school, we thrive on experiential learning and take field trips to expose the children to the world around them. We enjoy learning about history, biology, art, theater, gardening, and farming, through field trip experiences.

They are a great group of students who can not afford a private education.

We strive to make our school accessible to all.

My Project

My students are on the threshold of adolescence. They are surrounded by a world of technology which can cause isolation. This is such a crucial age for children to feel physically challenged and to know they can rise to the challenge. I have planned this trip for them to not only grow through the challenge of rock climbing but to experience the peace and quiet of the stars at night.

A trip like this is one they will surely remember for the rest of their lives and will likely share this experience with their own families when they grow up.

The love of nature is a legacy that needs to be experienced and shared in order for our wild places to take center stage in our lives.
