My Students

I teach at a Title I, low income, urban school. Our students have many diverse needs. All the students at this school receive free lunch. My class is a collaborative classroom with general education and special education students together.

My students are patient, kind and helpful.

They have a lot going on at home, so school is their safe place. Despite all that, they come to school ready to learn every day! They don't always have the supplies they need for school, so I am trying to help them be prepared for the year!

My Project

​Being in a collaborative classroom, we have students with a variety of needs and services. That being said, sitting in a regular desk and chair is not conducive to student learning. They need more options that will give them the chance to move around and be comfortable throughout the day.

With flexible seating options, my students can focus their attention on the lesson rather than on how uncomfortable they are staying in the same seat all day.

These options will be a great addition to our collaborative classroom. Our students enjoy having choices in the classroom, and these seating options will help give them more chances to make good choices.
